What is the proper maintenance cleaning procedure for my Handjet EBS-260 Printer?
Here is a step by step guide for proper cleaning procedure on your Handjet EBS-260 Printer.
Clean the nozzle faceplate
- As needed, use the washup fluid in the atomizer bottle to clean the printer face, and guide
rollers to remove the remnants of ink and dirt after usage.
Acetone Based Ink – Black MEK or Black Acetone
- Daily: The nozzle plate face should be sprayed with washup fluid (until all ink and debris are
removed. Use a foam-tipped swab or lint free cloth to help with removal. - Every two days: Purge the unit of ink with cleaning fluid
Periodic Purging (**READ THROUGH ALL STEPS BEFORE STARTING**)
- Power down the printer
- Remove the ink cartridge
- Install a cleaning cartridge
- Turn the printer on & press ‘Start’ to begin pressurization
- Wait for pressurization to finish, press ‘Stop’
- Ensure adequate ventilation in the area
- Press & hold the “Start” icon in lower right of display
- Press the “Purge” icon
- Point the unit downward into a hazmat-type container or scrap cardboard
- Press and hold the trigger
- The unit will beep and FIRE ALL 32 NOZZLES
- After 30-40 seconds of purging, you should see the Black jets turn clear as the ink is
replaced by cleaning fluid
- Press the “Purge” icon
- Once the jets look clear, release the trigger
- Power down the unit
- Loosen the cleaner cartridge to remove pressure in the system, then tighten the cleaner
cartridge to prevent dust, dirt or air from entering the back of the unit.
Restarting the unit for printing
- Following the same procedure as above
- With the ink cartridge connected – purge until the clear ink becomes black.
- With the ink cartridge connected – purge until the clear ink becomes black.
