What is the proper maintenance cleaning procedure for my Handjet EBS-250 Printer?
Here is a step by step guide for proper cleaning procedure on your Handjet EBS-250 Printer.
Clean the nozzle faceplate
- As needed, use the washup fluid in the atomizer bottle to clean the printer face, and guide rollers to remove the
remnants of ink and dirt after usage
Periodic Purging (by ink type)
- The unit should be purged of ink based on the following recommended intervals
- Ethanol Based Ink
- Purge once per week
- Acetone (non-pigmented) Based Ink
- Purge once every two days
- MEK (non-pigmented) Based Ink
- Purge once every two days
- Pigmented Ink (acetone or MEK)
- Purge every day after the shift is over
- Ethanol Based Ink
- Purging ink out of printer and replacing with cleaning fluid
- Power down (Pull the trigger and press ‘Print on/off’ Key simultaneously)
- Remove the ink cartridge
- Install the correct cleaning cartridge and power-up the unit
- Press the Print On/Off button
- Wait for pressurization to finish Caution - Ensure adequate ventilation in the area
- Point the unit downward into a hazmat-type container or scrap cardboard
- Press the trigger 2 times (within 1-2 seconds) and press and hold the trigger on third pull
- The unit will emit 2 beeps, then the unit will ‘fire’ all 16 nozzles, a second later
- Purging continues until the trigger is released, it will take approximately 15-20 seconds until the ink is replaced by cleaning fluid – longer with pigmented inks
- Release the trigger after clear cleaner fluid comes out of the nozzles
- Power down the unit (Pull the trigger and press the ‘F’ key simultaneously (until printer beeps and all LEDs are off)
- Loosen the cleaning cartridge
- This releases the pressure from the ink system
- Tighten the cleaning cartridge
- This prevents dust, dirt or air from entering the back of the unit
- Store the unit with the cartridge attached
- When ready to utilize the printer, replace attached cleaning cartridge with ink cartridge and purge solvent from unit until ink is spraying. Make a few test prints to make sure all nozzles are printing with ink
